Le coffret Vaughan Williams « The Collector's Edition » (EMI, 30 CD) est soldé à 26,27 € sur Amazon.fr, par un vendeur tiers mais avec l'option livraison gratuite vers la France ! Une très bonne affaire pour ce coffret lancé à plus de 80 €...

Le coffret réunit une grande partie de l'œuvre de Vaughan Williams et représente à la fois une porte d'entrée idéale et une somme rêvée pour en approfondir sa connaissance. On y retrouve l'intégrale des symphonies par Vernon Handley, de nombreuses œuvres orchestrales, concertantes et lyriques dirigées par Adrian Boult (y compris l'enregistrement intégral de l'opéra The Pilgrim's Progress), ainsi que les enregistrements des œuvres orchestrales de moindre dimension par Richard Hickox et des œuvres chorales par David Willcocks. On croise aussi de fameuses voix du répertoire anglais (Felicity Palmer, Janet Baker, Anthony Rolfe Johnson, Robert Tear).
